Bulletin Board Ideas Responsibility

(414 Words)
It is important to teach children about responsibility so that they can understand the importance of making the right decisions. A bulletin board can help to impart this lesson. There are many different ways to create such a board.
Comic strip showing a person acting responsibly
One creative idea is turn your bulletin board into a comic strip exploring the importance of responsibility. You can show a character going through different situations in which he has a choice in how to behave. For instance, you can show the character having a choice between going out with his friends or studying the night before a test. Have the character make the responsible decision and study for the test. Show that he or she is rewarded by getting a good grade while the other character that did not study does poorly on the test.
“What being responsible means” bulletin board
Some young children may be confused by what responsibility is and how they can be responsible. You can show pictures or put up prose that shows some responsible behaviors. You can show a picture of someone confessing that he accidently broke his brother’s toy, for instance. You can show someone throwing out his or her trash.
“Advantages of being responsible” bulletin board
Being responsible is not always the most fun thing to do, but students should realize that there are many benefits. You can show pictures or write about the rewards of being responsible so that the children will be more likely to practice this behavior. For instance, you can show a picture of them getting a good grade after studying responsibly like described above. You can show them being praised by their parents for being fair and kind to the new kid. You can show how it is better for the environment when people are responsible by recycling and utilizing other “green” measures.
You want the children to start to think about how they can be responsible in their own lives. Let them help you create the bulletin board. Ask that they draw a picture or write a report about a time that they were responsible. It could be when they visited an elderly relative or helped with the chores in the house. You can also have them create work that shows ways in which they can be more responsible. Post this on the board.
A bulletin board on responsibility can encourage children to be more responsible. Try the above ideas when creating your display.
