:
(416 Words)
When you teach your children good manners when they are young, they may be more likely to keep up with them. This can be the subject of a bulletin board in the following ways.
Put up words that represent good manners
If the children can read simple words, then this can be especially useful, but even if not you can tell them what they say. You can put up phrases such as “Thank you” and “Yes, please.” You can write out nice ways to say things such as “Please pass the fork, Mr. Smith.” If you want to make it even more unique you can attach a little voice recorder in which you can recorded some of these messages so that when the children press a button they hear these polite phrases. They can then practice saying them.
Show picture of people using good manners
A lot of preschoolers cannot read and might like to see pictures instead. You can show the children doing activities that showcase these manners. For instance, you can show them eating politely with the correct utensils. You can show them holding the door open for someone behind them. If you have art skills you can draw these pictures, otherwise there are many clips online that you can tap into. Also, if you want to get the children involved, you can have them act out different skits in which they show good manners. Take pictures of these and then post them up there. The preschoolers might love to see their pictures posted up and it can help remind them of what they did. You can also just have them draw their own pictures showing what good manners are all about.
In addition to just putting up random pictures of good manners, you can even connect it as a story or comic strip. The main character can display good manners and make people happy. Alternatively they can display bad manners and learn the correct way, which can teach the preschoolers at the same time.
When crafting your board, make sure that it is not overwhelming to the students. You want the kids to enjoy looking at it. You can add embellishments like stickers and glitter, which a lot of kids like. You can use bright paper to make it colorful. You can also combine the above ideas such as having both pictures of kids showing good manners and polite phrases. Once they are drawn to it, hopefully they will learn all about manners.
