Picking a color for your carpet is a big decision. It is something that will stay in your room for a long time and can only be changed with great expense and effort. If you want the carpet and all of the rooms to be the same, then you will need to find something neutral that matches all of the different rooms. You can also look for patterned carpet. This can add sophistication to a room and is also good at hiding dirt.
It is difficult to tell how the carpet will look in your room from a picture. If you can get a swatch, take it home and look see how it looks in the actual room. Get as large a swatch as you can. Sometimes the swatches look different than the picture, and you may like it more or less. Also, be aware that carpeting under direct sunlight may fade, and you can look for fade-resistant carpets to reduce this.
