Choosing the right Size Bed

(535 Words)
The four most popular beds sizes are twin, full or double, queen and king. There are many factors that you should take into consideration when deciding which size is right for your bedroom. Look at the following points.
Think about what would be comfortable for you. Obviously, a large part of this will depend on whether it is just for you or for a spouse as well. If you both move a lot in your sleep and like a lot of room, then a larger bed might make more sense. You may feel that it is more comfortable. In addition to size, the type of mattress is also important in order to have proper support while sleeping, per WebMD.
If you just take up a small amount of room and don’t move much, or like to sleep near each other anyways, then a smaller bed might make sense. Most couples get at least a full size bed. A twin is not really made for two people. Also consider length. Someone who is very tall may not want a twin size bed, even if it is just for one person. Moreover, according to PR Log, a queen size mattress measures 60 inches wide by 80 inches in length; whereas a full size mattress is only 75 inches long. This queen size is therefore better able to accommodate a person over six feet and three inches in height.
Consider what would fit in the room. Most master bedrooms accommodate at least a queen, however some may get cramped with a king size bed. Even if the bed fits, you still may not want it to take up so much room in your bedroom. Remember that you will still want to have some empty floor space and some room to walk around the bed. Think about the layout of your room and whether you will need to get rid of other items, such as furniture, to make room for the larger bed.
Another consideration is price. Beds go up a great deal in price as you go from a twin to full and queen and then to king. The more expensive the bed the more pronounced this difference will be. You may simply not be able to afford a bigger bed. Also, remember that you will incur more than just the cost of the larger bed. You will need to spend the money for the larger sheets, comforter and other bed linens, which also go up a great deal as they go up in size. If you are changing to a different size bed than you had before, you will need to purchase all new linens for the bed.
There may be some other factors that play a part for you. For instance, you may want to continue to use your same headboard and will therefore choose a mattress that can fit in it. Think about what you find the most comfortable, as well as what is practical and within your budget when deciding what size bed to get. When considering different styles of bed, consulting a mattress size guide is also helpful, as this helps determine whether or not a particular size is suitable for your needs.
