Toys that would be Good for Kids who like Math
Many children enjoy the subject of mathematics. If you have a child who enjoys this subject, you might want to get toys to foster this skill. There are many toys that involve math.
Cash register
A child may enjoy pretending to run a store or a shop with a toy cash register. They make many different types of cash registers, and many of them feature a real working calculator. The child can practice his or her skills at changing out money and practice adding, subtracting and counting the money. He or she can also use it with other play-pretend toys such as a toy shop. He or she can take turns with other children to be the cashier.
A child may also like some toy money to go with the cash register or on its own. He or she can pretend to buy items around the house. They can keep the money in the cash register. You can buy both pretend dollar bills as well as coins. These are inexpensive and you can find them at the dollar store.
Toy ATM
A toy automatic teller machine may be much better than a typical piggy bank for a child who enjoys math. There are many different versions of this toy, some of which are more sophisticated than others. It may work exactly like an ATM and count the child’s money as he or she puts it in. The child can count along and practice adding the money to his or her account. They also make piggy banks that are not ATMs, but will count how much money goes into the bank.
Handheld videogame
There are many handheld video games that have games that teach math. Different systems are made for kids of different ages, so be sure to find one that is appropriate for your child. You might also find a toy laptop that has some math games on it.
Toy clock
A child who likes math can also learn how to tell the time with a toy clock. He or she can practice adding or subtracting time to figure out what time it is.
Toys that involve math are not only good for children who like math, but can also help kids develop an interest in the subject. Make sure that you get something that is suitable for your child’s age and continue to look for new math toys as they grow older and more mature.
