Home-baked item
If your grandmother always baked some treats for you when you were young, then you might want to return the favor. She might love it if you took the time and effort to make something yummy for her. Of course make sure to pay attention to any dietary restrictions that she may have. There are many different treats and food items that can be made with under $10 such as cookies, cake, etc.
Jewelry
You may think that $10 is too little to get anything that is attractive in a jewelry piece but that is not true. You can often find many costume pieces for this price. You might even find something in sterling silver for this price if you shop at an inexpensive source like Ross. Make sure to think about what she likes to and can wear. Some seniors may have trouble with clasps because of arthritis, for instance, and you might need to get them a necklace that can go right over her head.
Photo gift
Many grandmothers like most of all to see pictures of their grandchildren, and you can get a gift that somehow incorporates a photo. You can put together a collage. Get a large piece of poster board and then glue or tape a lot of pictures, letters, poems about grandmother, mementos, and anything else that you think she would like. Although this will be in your budget, it may be more special that any expensive gift that you could have bought.
There are many other photo gifts. You can get a pretty yet inexpensive photo frame and put a pictures of the two of you in it. You can get a plain wooden box from a craft store that she can use to store photos and then paint something pretty on it.
Accessory
Your grandmother might like a pretty accessory. You might be able to find a scarf, pair of gloves or hair clip within this price range.
When Christmas of 2010 arrives, you want to have something special and meaningful for your grandmother, and you can accomplish this even with a $10 budget. You may find that one of the ideas above is perfect for your grandmother.
