You may do a lot of your 2010 Christmas shopping at the mall. With a variety of stores in one convenient location, this can be an easy place to purchase most or all of your gifts. There are many steps that you can take in order to save money at the malls.
Look for special sale days
There are certain days that have greater sales than others. For instance, you may want to shop on Black Friday, the huge shopping day that is the day after Thanksgiving. On this day, many of the stores in the mall have the best sales of the year. Also, sometimes malls themselves will have special promotions such as the offer of a gift card if you spend a certain amount at the mall or giving you some sort of reward if you use a certain credit card.
In addition to shopping on certain days, you will even want to think about the times that you shop. For instance, during Black Friday, many of the department and other stores have sales that end sometime in the morning such as at 10am. You may get additional discounts. The mall promotions may end at a certain time too. Stores will also sometimes have these sales on different days as well.
Look through the ads to find the best deal
As Christmas approaches you will see many ads for stores such as Macy’s, J.C.Penney and other mall staples. To save money you will want to look through these to find out where the best deals are. A lot of them will also have coupons in the newspaper. Sometimes they will even mail you a coupon that can give you a significant discount or even something free altogether.
Price compare
When you are at the mall, do not just buy the first gift that meets your needs. You will want to look through the various stores and price compare. You will often find similar gifts with better deals at one store over the other. Also, even the same store will have different deals as time passes, so you can wait until you find a sale or deal that suits you.
You may spend a lot of money at the mall when doing your Christmas shopping, and if you are smart about it you will be able to save money. To save even more try to combine the above techniques when you can.
