Many could use a little extra money for Christmas. There are different ways to earn a little for your gifts, entertaining costs and other financial needs during the 2010 season.
Get a seasonal job
If you want to get a job just for the season leading up to Christmas, then you may be in luck. Although the 2010 economy is slow and it is a tough job market, retailers, restaurants and other places always need extra help during the holiday season. They are open for longer hours and usually are busier and thus need more staff to accommodate the customers. You might work as a cashier or salesperson in a store or as a waiter or waitress in a restaurant. Many of these places have quite a few hours to give to those who want it, especially since regular employees might want some time off. If you go to the mall, you might see different stores seeking seasonal help.
Do some freelance work
There are many freelance jobs that you can do to earn a little extra cash for Christmas This will depend on the skills that you have. If you are a writer, for instance, then you might try your hand at www.helium.com, where you can submit articles about different subjects. There are other websites that accept writing, as well. In addition, if you have skills as a photographer then you can try to earn a little money doing that. A lot of people take family pictures right before Christmas and might be looking for someone. If you are a graphic designer you can look for work in that.
Find odd jobs
You might be able to find some odd jobs to earn a little extra money. For instance, a lot of people need help shoveling snow around this time of year and you might be able to offer to do it. In the months leading up to the holiday you can try to make a little extra cash by raking the fall leaves. If you have skills as a handyman, then see if you can find a few jobs here and there to earn.
If you have a current job then you might also be able to ask your boss if you can get some extra hours. If someone needs to take off some time, then you might be able to take their hours. You might want to try a variety of techniques in order to try to earn some extra cash for the 2010 Christmas holiday.
