Fun Games for Toddlers
There are many fun games that you can play with your toddlers. Some of these are educational, others are fun and many are both.
Peek-a-boo
Peek-a-boo may be a simple game, but it is great fun for many toddlers. Hide yourself and then peek out. Many little toddlers think that if they can’t see you, you can’t see them. You can put your hand over their eyes and say “Where is baby?”
Hide and seek
You can play a fun game of hide and seek with your toddler. You do not want to truly hide very far because they may not be able to figure it out. You can hide somewhere in plain sight. You can make it a big deal when you find them or when they find you.
This Little Piggy
Toddlers just love to be tickled. You can play This Little Piggy. Grab each toe in succession. You can say the classic rhyme or make up your own. At the end, tickle your toddler up to his or her neck. You can play other tickle games such as pretending that you are “The Tickle Monster.”
Ring Around the Rosy
This classic, decades-old game is great fun for toddlers. Simply take hands and spin with each other while you sing the popular children’s rhyme. When you are done, you should all fall on the floor, which is the best part for most toddlers.
Dancing fun
A lot of toddlers love to listen to music and you can incorporate this into your games. You can play a simple freeze dance game. Play music and then say freeze and stop moving. Your child may or may not get it, but he or she may enjoy it. The hokey pokey is another popular game. This can also help them learn about the names of the different body parts.
Bowling
Toddlers love to knock things down and then pick them up. You can buy an inexpensive bowling set for the home. They sell these in many different places. You can set them up and each take turns rolling the ball to knock them down. Of course, they may decide to run over and knock them down themselves in squealing delight but it will still be fun.
No matter what games you play with your toddler, the most important thing is that you play with them. The above games may be fun for your toddler.
