Great Ideas for a Fall Weekend Getaway

A fall weekend getaway can be just what you need to revitalize yourself. There are many different trips to take, and you should take advantage of the cooling but not too cold weather. Consider the following ideas.
Camping trip
A camping trip might be the perfect fall getaway. You can find a park that has trees turning beautiful colors. You could consider a truly striking area such as the Blue Ridge Parkway. Camping is also a great trip because it is relatively inexpensive. You can plan for great activities like hiking through the pretty fall foliage, looking for birds and other animals, spending quality time with the family, telling stories around a campfire, throwing around a ball and more. You can leave all of the electronics and worries of everyday life behind and just enjoy nature.
Beach
Although many people think of the beach as a summer getaway, it can work as a fall one as well. If you go to an area such as Miami, Hollywood or Ft. Lauderdale in South Florida, then much of the fall is actually very mild. It might be like the summer where you live. The beaches might be much less crowded in the fall than in the summer, which might be great. You can just lay on the beach. Also, if you are sensitive to it being very hot then the fall might be a better time for you to spend so much time outdoors. In areas like Hollywood Beach, Florida, they have entertainment in an outdoor band shell many days of the week. You can get a motel right on the beach and watch the sun rise or set over the water.
Cruise
A cruise can be a great fall getaway. These are often fairly all-inclusive, which a lot of people enjoy. They have many different cruises, which are traditional or extended weekends. A lot of people would find it difficult being outside in the full heat of the summer, so a fall can be a nice time of year to go on such a weekend getaway. Also, many of the cruise lines have specials this time of year, so you can get some great deals. There are many different ports of calls and destinations from which to choose on cruise lines like Royal Caribbean.
