Broward County, Florida, has many beautiful parks. They offer a wide variety of activities for all different types of people. The following are some great parks in this area.
Long Key Nature Center
Long Key Nature Center is a pretty wooded area off of Flamingo Road, near Flamingo Gardens. It boasts some nice trails that you can walk through under tall trees. It is very peaceful. There is a homey porch with a line of rocking chairs overlooking a lovely lake. There are many birds in the area. They have different activities for children and adults including nature programs and night walks. They also have an indoor museum and a large hall that they rent out.
C.B. Smith Park
Located in Pembroke Pines, C.B. Smith Park has much to offer the entire family. They have many picnic areas surrounding a large lake. They have paddle boating, many paths to jog or bike on, and a nice-sized water park area for little kids. There are playgrounds and shelters that are commonly rented for birthday parties. It is a pleasant park to visit. Visitors are welcome free of charge on the weekdays they are open, and they charge $1.50 on weekends.
Tree Tops Park
This is one of the prettiest parks in the area. True to its namesake, it has a lot of beautiful and tall towering trees. You can walk under them on many paths, and feel like you are lost in an enchanted forest. There are paths for equestrian riders as well. In addition, there is a boardwalk path that goes over a pretty lake. There are many lovely birds in the area. They have several playgrounds for the children, as well as shelters and facilities that you can rent for parties. Pricing is the same as C.B. Smith Park.
T.Y. Park
T.Y. Park is a lovely park in Hollywood, off of Sheridan Street, just east of I-95. They have a nice water section, an extensive covered playground for the children, and many paths to walk as well. They have different events through the year, including the Camelot Days festival where people come in Medieval garb. There is a beautiful gazebo overlooking the large lake, suitable for outdoor weddings as well as other areas that you can rent.
