(411 Words)
A Halloween party can be great fun for children aged 8 to 12 years. You can incorporate party games into your event, however you will want to be sure that they are appropriate for the age of the children. Many children of that age will think that some games are too “babyish” so finding something of the right maturity might be a challenge. Consider the following ideas.
Halloween scavenger hunt
A lot of children aged 8 to 12 might enjoy a scavenger hunt. You should make it related to Halloween. For instance, you will put out clues such as “find the black flying creature of the night.” They will have to look for a black bat picture that you posted somewhere for the next clue. You can send them all over the house, backyard or wherever else you are having the party. At the end can be a prize.
Murder mystery
Another fun Halloween party game for this age group is to stage a fake murder mystery for them to solve. You can actually buy a game that has everything set up for you or you can do it yourself. Come up with the details of the crime and get some people to act out. The children have to try to solve it.
Clue
If you want the children to play board games, you can get some versions of Clue. You can get multiple games so that everyone can play individually or you can have fewer games and have them play in teams. This is a great game to celebrate Halloween.
Guess the creepy food
You can have a game where the children need to reach into a bowl of something and figure out what it really is. For instance, you can take lumpy mashed potatoes and say that it is brains. The child who figures out the most will win some sort of prize.
Halloween themed Pictionary
Pictionary is a fun party game for this age group. One child tried to draw something while the others figure out what it is. You can give them topics that are related to Halloween, such as black cat and Haunted House. You can also have another party game that is Halloween-themed such as charades.
A Halloween party can be a lot of fun for 8 to 12 year olds and incorporating games is a great way to go. Consider the above ideas when planning the games that you will have at your party.
