There are many household tools that may be helpful for arthritics. These can make it so that someone doesn’t have to reach as much. Consider the following ideas.
Lazy Susans
It may be difficult for some arthritics to reach around to get things off of shelves and behind things. They may want to make use out of Lazy Susans. Instead of needing to reach behind items, they can simply twirl the device around and see the other items. There are many places in the household that you can use this. Some people have a large one that can fit on their table. Some tables even come with them built it. Of course you can also get them for your spices. You can put them anywhere in the house you want where you need to store a lot of different items.
Stick vacuum
It may be difficult for an arthritic to reach down and pick things up off of the floor. It also may be difficult for them to constantly lug around a heavy vacuum cleaner. A great medium is to use some sort of stick vac. You can get one that plugs in, but something even more useful might be one that just goes into a charger so you do not have to worry about any wires or reaching in to plug it in. You can then just put it over the mess and it gets all cleaned up. For many people who do not make big messes, this might be sufficient for keeping their floors clean. There are many companies that offer these, and they come in at different price points.
Metal grabber wand
If reaching into places really bothers your arthritis, then you can get one of these useful tools. On one end is a grabbing hand much like a robotic hand. It is attached to a stick, and on the other end is a simple trigger. As long as you feel that you can pull the trigger without too much pain, you can use these to grab items that are in the back of shelves or high up. It can save you from needing to extend your arm very far or trying to reach up for something.
There are many other useful household tools for arthritics. You can get a shoe horn on a long stick to help you put on your shoes without reaching down. You can also make your jewelry clasps magnetic by adding on attachments that can put an end to those tiny clasps. All of these can help make the life of an arthritic a little easier.
