Work hard in school
School is very important for your career. When you are in the younger grades, then doing well in school can help you get into the college of your choice. Doing well in college will help you to get into the graduate program that you want or right into a job. Many jobs are very competitive, and you want to have all of the advantages that you can have. A higher grade point average can help you.
Do not be afraid to go for what you want
If you want to go into the medical field and become a doctor, do not give up on those dreams because you think it is too difficult and opt for a lower job instead. Many jobs are difficult to get, but if you have the potential, then you can fulfill it if you try hard enough. Believe that you can. There are many instances in which people have trouble finding the career they want, but then suddenly find it.
Do not be afraid to make a change
Some people become comfortable in a position, even if it is not quite the right path for them. They may be afraid to try for something else. They may think that it is too much work. Of course you want to have some sense (do not quit a job if it means that you are not going to have rent for the next month and will be living on the streets) but oftentimes change is not as difficult as you make it out to be. If you do not like the direction in which your career has gone, then do not be afraid to do something else.
Do your research
Do not just expect things to happen to you. You need to be proactive and make them happen. If you are interested in becoming a doctor, then learn all about it. Give yourself the advantage of knowledge. Find out what you need to do to achieve your potential.
Be persistent
If you do not succeed at first, then keep trying. Many famous writers were rejected time and time again before finally succeeding. Even talented people need Lady Luck at times.
Better yourself
Never stop trying to learn more and to become better at your skill. You never know your full potential until you try.
