How to Cover up a Hickey
You may not want your parents, your teachers, your boss or the world at large to see it. But how do you cover up that hickey? There are different methods for doing this, including the following.
Cover it up with clothing
This is one of the easiest and most common ways to cover up a hickey. Simply wear some clothing over it. If the hickey is on your neck as many of them are, then you could wear a turtleneck. You might also want to wear some sort of scarf or shawl instead. There might be a jacket that has a collar that you can lift up that will cover it sufficiently. You may even be able to wear a big floppy hat to cover it up. Try different things to see what works. Just remember not to take these things off in front of whomever you are trying to hide it from.
Wear your hair in front of it
If you have longer hair, then this might be sufficient to cover up the hickey. You may just let your hair loose and in front of your shoulders. You may flip it all over to the side and put a hair clip in it to keep it there. Experiment with different styles, and make sure that your hair stays put and does not shift.
Put a Band-Aid over it
Some people choose to hide their hickey by putting a band-aid over it. This will work no matter whether you are female or male. Make sure that you get one that is large enough. They make these in many different sizes so you should be able to find something that works. Someone will probably just assume that you have an injury and not a hickey.
Put some make-up over it
There may be some cover-up makeup that you can use in order to hide your hickey. Make sure that you use something that is safe to put over the hickey (obviously take into account how bad the wound is). Something may cover it completely or it may at least hide it enough that you cannot tell what it is.
The above methods may help you when you are trying to hide a hickey. You may also want to combine several of the methods to be sure such as wearing a shawl and having your hair pulled in front of it. Make sure not to do something too out of character if you think that someone like your parents will get suspicious.
