How to Create an Atmosphere of Happiness through Interior Decorating
If you want your atmosphere to radiate happiness, then you can accomplish this with interior decorating. What represents happiness to one person may be different from the next. Try the following tips.
Go for bright colors that make you feel happy
Something as simple as the wall color can promote happiness for people. Many people will find it difficult to be happy in a dark gray room that reminds them of storm clouds, for instance. You can instead paint the room a bright color that you like. You can also think of the colors that remind you of something. For instance, you might want to paint it a light blue because it is reminiscent of a morning sky. A lot of people like rainbows or mixtures of colors.
Some people choose fun wallpapers. You may feel happy if you have a whimsical wallpaper with colorful balloons on them. Others may choose to paint a fun mural such as of a forest scene. You may find happiness in having a unique room that brings a little fantasy into your life.
Use photographs
Many people are happy when they are looking at photographs from happy times. You can place these strategically around the room as part of your interior design. You can use collages of a lot of small pictures or you can put in huge 20×30 prints of your baby’s first smile. You may feel happy surrounded by the grinning faces of all that you love.
Put up other artwork that makes you happy
You can also create happiness by utilizing beautiful artwork that makes you feel happy. It can be something that is generally happy such as a painting of children enjoying a carnival. It could be something that reminds you of a good time in your life such as a picture of the sea if you remember sailing with your dad when you were a child.
Add items to make the space feel “homey”
A lot of people find that they want the space to feel warm and “homey.” It might be about having a homemade quilt thrown over the couch. It may be about having furniture that is not only attractive but looks comfortable as well, like it is inviting you to sink down into its plush cushions to relax. It may be putting in mementos from the past on the shelves such as that trophy you won in little league.
How exactly you design your room for your happiness will depend on you. Some people like to fill a room with hundreds of little things that make them happy. If they find that angels make them happy, then they may get a lot of figurines, for instance. Others would rather have a few select items to be able to focus on. Try different things in your design to find the best way to represent your happiness.
