: How to keep Kids from Ruining the Inside of your Car
:
(454 Words)
If you have children , the inside of your car may look like the floor of that $1 movie theater you used to go to as a child, the one where your feet stuck to the floor with every step. This is not ideal for most people, so consider the following steps in keeping kids from ruining the inside of your car.
Limit eating and drinking as much as possible
A lot of the mess from children is because of eating and drinking. Obviously there are times this might not be able to be avoided such as when you are going on a long road trip, but you might want to avoid it as much as possible otherwise. They cannot spill purple grade juice all over your car if they do not have it.
If they must eat in the car, take steps to prevent spillage. You can buy trays that are meant to hold food. You can have them drink from containers with lids. You can also clean up messes as soon as possible after they occur because oftentimes things will come out right away but not if you wait too long.
Have the kids take off their shoes before they get in the car
When your child bounds into your car from soccer practice, he or she is probably bringing half of the field with him. Instead have your children take off their shoes right before they get into the car. You can bring a bag to put them in so that your car is completely protected. Wash them before they put them on in your car again. Also, make sure that the kids do not empty the sand from their shoes right on your car. If they are going swimming, then make sure they dry off fully and put on a cover-up or something on top of them to protect the seat.
Floor mats
Floor mats can be a wonderful thing for your car. You can get some that are very easy to clean off. If they get ruined, then you can get new mats but that is usually cheaper than trying to somehow fix your ruined carpet. You can also get covers to go over the chairs that can be taken off and washed as well. They can also be easily replaced.
Supervise the kids
You should keep an eye on what your kids are doing. If you see them doing something to the car, then speak up right away and if necessary discipline them if they know that they are doing something wrong and continue to do it.
You do not want your kids ruining the inside of your car. The above strategies may help you to protect your car.
