How to Personalize a Chair for a Child
There are many great ways to personalize a chair for a child. Consider the following methods to provide your little one with his or her own special seat.
Paint a wooden chair especially for them
A lot of people personalize a chair for their child by painting a wooden one. They sell wooden chairs at many craft stores, along with paint that is good for wood. Make sure you prepare the wood first if necessary. You can paint in the child’s name. You can paint in pictures of different things that the child likes. You can even have the child help you decorate it
Make special personalized cushions for a chair
One things you can do to make a chair personalized is to make personalized cushions for the chair, which you can then attach. You can take cushions that are already made or you can make them yourself if you are good at sewing. If you are just decorating it then you can embroider their initials or name. You can also use fabric paint to decorate it as well. They even have markers that you can use to draw on fabric. Make sure that you get something that will stay on. You could also sew on appliqué that they like or you may even be able to find something with their name on it. You can usually find appliqué of all of the different letters so you can spell out their names with that. Make sure that any tools you use like fabric paint are made to stay on permanently and will not run or smudge. You can add in beading, sequins, glitter and other embellishments to make it more personalized for the child. If you know how to sew then you can use your fabric selection to make it personalized. Depending on your child’s name, you may even get lucky and find someone material with their name already on it. For instance, if your child’s name is Ariel like Disney’s The Little Mermaid, then you might find fabric with that.
A personalized chair can make a great gift for a child, and can be something that they can use for years to come.
