You want your porch to look beautiful because it is the first thing that people are likely to see when they come to your house. However many do not have large budgets, thus you may have to make do with inexpensive decorating ideas. That doesn’t mean that they can’t be fabulous.
Inexpensive plants
Plants can be a beautiful addition to a porch, yet they do not have to cost a lot. You can grow your own from inexpensive seeds or from cuttings from your own plants or those of your friends. You can also buy plants for very inexpensive when they are small.
There are many pots that would look great on a porch. You can get large pots that are plastic instead of ceramic and save a lot of money. You can put a variety of plants in them. Also, you can get some hanging pots, which can look very sweet on a porch. You can also get plant holders that are specifically made to go over railings on a porch.
Some people do not want to have to care for plants but like the look of them, and they may consider fake plants. You can find many of these for very reasonable prices.
Lights
A string of lights can look extremely pretty on a porch and can be very reasonable. You might get some white lights or some multi-coloreds ones. You can often find these on great clearance sales right after the Christmas holidays.
Homemade or inexpensive bird feeders
Birds feeders do not only look pretty but they can attract vibrant birds. There are many ways to make them yourself through a craft, which can be fun for you and your children. They also sell these in inexpensive places.
Rugs
There are different inexpensive rugs that are meant to go outdoors. These can brighten up a porch.
Innovative painting
You might want to paint your porch in a pretty way. For instance, let’s say that you start with a plain white porch. You might be able to get some paints and stencils and make some designs like flowers. This can look very unique and attractive, but might cost you next to nothing. There is also some artwork that can do fine outside, and you can try to put this up by your porch.
Seasonal decorations
You will often find seasonal decorations at a dollar store such as the Dollar Tree. You can decorate for holidays such as Halloween, St. Valentine’s Day, Thanksgiving and so forth.
You can decorate your porch without spending a fortune. Consider the above ideas to accomplish this.
