How to use Pantyhose in the House
You may think of pantyhose as only a fashion accessory, however they can actually offer a lot of household uses. Because they are so inexpensive, they can provide a cheap and yet interesting function. Use pantyhose in the following ways:
Help you find lost items
If you need to find something that is small, then you can use pantyhose with your vacuum cleaner. Place pantyhose over the part that sucks up the air. It will not stop the air from sucking things, however it will catch anything before it actually goes into the machine. You can then use the vacuum to see if you find the missing object.
Use it to store clothing
If you have clothing that you do not mind getting wrinkled, then you can stuff it into the pant part of pantyhose. This will keep it together nice and tight. This can be a great way to pack when you are going on a trip and space is sparse in your luggage. You can store socks in it, for instance.
Use with potpourri
If you want to make your home smell nice, then you can use pantyhose with potpourri. This will hold it securely but will not allow it to escape. You can cut it as short as you want it and fill it with as much potpourri as you want. Tie it together at the top.
Use them to tie newspapers and other items
You can use pantyhose to tie together items. It can work with large stacks of newspapers, magazines or books. This can work well since it is difficult to find rubber bands that are large enough and it is nice to have something elastic with which to tie them because it can help them stay nice and tight.
Use as a stuffing in toys and pillows
If you need to repair a toy that has lost some of its stuffing, then you can put in pantyhose. This will provide a fluffy soft inside for the doll. You can also use it in the same fashion for very small pillows.
Use it to store fruits
You may use old or new pantyhose to store fruits such as cantaloupes. Make sure to thoroughly wash the pantyhose before using them with food items.
