How to Exercise during your Lunch Hour

(387 Words)
One great time to squeeze in a workout is during lunch hour. Because 30 minutes is all it takes to fit in some aerobic exercise, lunchtime is optimal for exercise.
Take time to eat
First you want to make sure that you have time to eat. Skipping meals is not a good idea unless you will have another time to eat, especially if you will be burning calories by exercising. Of course you should have a huge meal right before you exercise, but you can try to have a little something before and after you exercise.
Time to change clothes
You need to be able to quickly change into a workout outfit. You do not want to get all sweaty in your business outfit. You could change at work, or if you are uncomfortable, find a local business nearby like a fast food restaurant. Once you are done, you can change right back.
Proximity
Of course you to exercise very close to where you are working. One idea is to try to go for a jog around the place where you are working. This would be great if you have a park or another natural area by you. You can also just jog around the sidewalks. This is great because you do not need any equipment and unless it is in a bad area, there is a good chance you can find some suitable path near you.
The other convenient way to exercise is if you have a gym very close by. You could then do whatever workout you want at the gym. You might even be able to squeeze in a short aerobics class. Look to see if there is a gym that is close to your work. If you are extremely lucky you might even find a company that has its own gym. Some try to promote exercise and will thus offer this to employees.
You might also ask your manager about extending your lunch hour by 15 minutes and making up the time before or after work. It might not matter to them but would make a big difference in giving you enough time to squeeze in a workout.
If you do it right, you can work out during your lunch hour. This can be a great time to get your daily exercising done.
