: How Women should Prepare for Road Emergencies
:
(460 Words)
Road emergencies can and do happen. A woman might have a difficult time when faced with an incident on the road. There are some things a female can do to be prepared, including the following.
Carry a cell phone
A woman might want to carry a cell phone to be able to call for help in the case of a road emergency. If you do not have a cell phone and are not near any public phones you may have no choice but to try to flag down a passing motorist. A woman might not feel very comfortable doing this. It is also important that the cell phone be charged. Many people now have smartphones that run out of batteries very quickly. She may even want to carry a spare battery, especially if going on a long car trip.
Make sure there is someone to call if there is a problem
A cell phone will be of no use if there is no one to call. Of course if she gets into a car accident or some sort of similar emergency she can always call 911. However, there are other road emergencies like breaking down in the middle of a busy highway in which she might want an auto service to call. She might join triple A or another service.
Make sure she has something to keep her warm if it is cold outside
If the car suddenly dies and you have no heat and it is the middle of the winter, you might start to get cold. If this is the case, she might want to keep an extra heavy jacket or blanket in the car. It might be a while before help arrives.
Consider the new safety features many cars offer
Some cars offer great features that a woman might like when travelling. For instance, some cars sense when there is an accident and actually phone out to a call center. Someone will try to reach the driver to make sure they are okay. If they receive no response they will automatically send out the authorities. This could literally save a woman’s life.
Make sure that you have safety equipment
There is different equipment that a woman should keep with her for safety. She should have a first aid kit. They make some specifically for cars. She should have flashlight. She might also have some jumper cables, tools and more. You can also get a sign to put on your car to say that you need help. You can buy things to put in front of your car to make it more visible to other motorists if you are broken down.
A woman should do her best to be prepared for a road emergency. Consider the above tips.
