Preschool Bulletin Board Ideas i Learn about Food
A great bulletin board for a preschool classroom is one that centers around food. Learning about the types of food that people eat and what is good for their bodies are very useful lessons that children can carry with them. Consider the following ideas.
Attach fake food to the bulletin board
One great way to have children learn is to have the bulletin board be more than 2D. You can actually attach light plastic food, which may help to draw the children’s attention more than just pictures. You can place the foods that the children like to eat as well as those that are healthy. You can write out different information about the food such as where it comes from and some nutritional information about it.
Put up the food pyramid
It is important for the children to learn about the food pyramid. These guidelines, which the government recommends, can show the children how they should eat and the foods that are the best for them. A lot of kids might be used to eating unhealthy at home, so this can show them the right way to do this. On the Internet you will find many graphics of the food pyramid so you can use that as a guideline when creating the board. You might even be able to print something right out from the Internet or get a poster that is ready-made to post onto the bulletin board.
Teach the children about foods from around the world
A lot of children do not know about a lot of different types of food. They may have fast food every night or be wary to try different things. One interesting bulletin board could focus on the different types of food that is served in the countries around the world. You can show a picture of a child from that country and then the different types of food that they eat. You can compare the foods that are the same versus those that are different.
You might also want to get the children involved in the bulletin board. For instance, they could draw pictures of foods that they like to eat, especially if they are more unusual. You can then post those up on your bulletin board.
It is important for children to learn about foods, and a bulletin board is a great way to do this. Consider the above ideas when creating your board.
