(421 Words)
Exercise is extremely healthy, and that fact remains while you are pregnant. Pregnant women should discuss their exercise routines with their physician first to make sure that there are not any individual issues that would preclude her from participating. If she can exercise, as the vast majority of pregnant women can and are encouraged, she might realize the following benefits.
Better mood
A lot of women find that exercise helps keep them in a better mood. Exercise can release helpful hormones. Many women reports less depression and anxiety when they exercise. At a time when women’s emotions are “all over the place” this can be a nice steadying force.
Also, a lot of pregnant women feel very much out of control over their own bodies. It can be difficult for a woman to see the major changes that are occurring. With exercise you can feel like you have some control.
It can help you keep your blood pressure down
Some women find that exercise is useful in helping to lower their blood pressure. Since this is an issue in many women’s pregnancies, this can be helpful. Women should check with their doctor about exercising if they do have this condition. Also, in some cases of preeclampsia nothing will help to keep it down.
It can help you again the right amount of weight
A lot of women eat far more than they should during pregnancy. For once, they might not be watching their weight, and some people eat in an unhealthy way. They may gain more weight than is recommended. Exercising can help keep you at a healthier place. It might also help them return back to their weight after the pregnancy.
It can help provide a better birth
Some women find that exercising helps them have an easier birth.
It can make you feel stronger
A lot of women just feel stronger when they have exercised. When women get pregnant they often find that they get out of breath very easily. They may feel exhausted and some even start to feel weak. Their muscles and joints may hurt. When you exercise you can build your muscles. You may just feel stronger in general.
There are many reasons why exercising during a pregnancy can be very beneficial. Of course, exercise in general provides cardiovascular benefits, and this remains as the woman is pregnant. Not all forms of exercise are safe for a pregnant woman so be sure to talk with your physician about the exact plan that will work for you.
