There are many art projects that students can create during the months of the summer. Make sure that you cater it to the age and grade level of the kids. The following are some fun ideas you might want to consider.
Beach project
A lot of kids like to go to the beach during the warm months of the summer, and this can be a great thing to incorporate into an art project. For instance, they can make a scene with kids playing with a beach ball, swimming in the ocean, etc. They can use art supplies like markers, crayons, and paints. They can also add different embellishments. For instance, they can cut out little pieces of fabric in order to glue onto the scene such as a beach ball. They can add glitter for the top of the waves. They can put in little beads or crystals.
Make a sun
Summer is all about the shining sun and the kids can make one as an art project. They can take a piece of yellow paper and cut it out in the shape of a sun. They can then color it and decorate it with yellow, orange and red embellishments. They can then put a little loop on the back so that it can be hung up.
Fourth of July project
Of course, Independence Day takes part in the summer, and a great way to celebrate is to make an art project. One idea is to have the students make a Fourth of July painting. They can draw fireworks, flags and other things they can do on the Fourth of July. The children might also like to make something nice to wear for the Fourth of July. You can get them shirts that are red, white or blue. You can give them paints or fabric markers in the same colors and have them decorate it. They also sell fabric paint with glitter in it and they can use those to make fireworks on their shirts. Alternatively you can also get them baseball caps that they can decorate.
You can also have them decorate a wooden object as an art project for the Fourth of July. For instance, you could have them decorate a wooden picture frame with red, white and blue paint, which they can then use for a picture of the special holiday.
When summer comes, you might want to mark the month with a special art project. Consider the above ideas when deciding what will be best for your students.
