(400 Words)

Of course they will get the general benefits of being in the NFL to begin with such as a decent salary compared to many other professions, the thrill of being on a professional sports team, fame, and so forth. They will also enjoy the following benefits.
You may face less pressure
A backup quarterback may have less pressure than the starting quarterback. The starting quarterback constantly has to prove himself. A backup quarterback is typically on the field a lot less. Although there is pressure at that time, people may not expect as much from him as they do the starting quarterback. He may be able to perform at a lower quality and still be considered adequate for the team.
You may also get less of the blame if something goes wrong. Many fans will blame the quarterback for a team’s loss, even though there are obviously many other players involved in a loss as well. Unless you played a pivotal role in the loss, you may escape a great deal of this criticism.
There may be opportunities
Many players go from backup quarterback to starting quarterback. You are right there, poised to take advantage of an opportunity should it arise, and it often does. It can be a great stepping stone to a better place.
They get to practice with the other players
A backup quarterback can improve his game as he practices with the other players. He may find ways to learn from the starting quarterback. He can watch objectively as the game goes on and will hopefully get an idea of the different plays that work and do not work.
They have the opportunity to save the day
Backup quarterbacks often go in when the starting quarterback gets hurt, is not performing or for some reason cannot continue in the game. You may be ahead or you may be behind, but no matter what you are in the position to show an entire stadium of people what you can do. You can save the day if your team is behind and find yourself a hometown hero. You can simply keep a lead and be considered a pivotal rock for the team.
Being a backup quarterback is a much coveted job. There is much competition for this job that may procure you the above advantages.
