Make sure that you get the right size for your television
Different stands are rated to hold certain sizes of televisions. Obviously, you want something that will hold your television well. If it is too small, you could have a problem because it might not support it. It being too big can also be a problem because it might not look right. Many of them will state the television sizes that work for them.
Think about what material you want
Television stands are made from all different sorts of materials. Some are made of metal, some of wood, and others of different materials. The different materials are more durable and of course they have different looks. Certain materials are more money as well.
Think about how much you want to spend
Different stands cost far different prices. You will want to think about the amount of money that you want to spend on such an item. You can spend under $100 for a small one or well into the hundreds and even thousands of dollars for more elaborate ones.
Make sure it fits in the space you have
You do not want to purchase a stand only to have it not fit. Think about how much space you have. If there is any doubt at all then you should measure.
Where does it situate the television?
You might like your television to be lower or higher. Think about where it would place the television compared to your viewing.
What else can it hold?
Different stands have room for different other items. Some are pretty small and will hold little more than a television. Others might have a little extra space for you to put items like a DVD player or stereo system. Yet others can be gigantic wall units, with room to put many different items. Obviously, with everything else being equal, the larger it is the more money it will cost.
Look at what style you want
Just like other pieces of furniture you will find different styles. For instance, some might be modern, some might be rustic, etc. Think about what you like and what would fit in with the room.
There are many considerations when buying a television stand. Consider the above points to help you make your decision.
