The summer is the opportune time for many to visit Disney World. For many this is because their children are in school, and this is the easiest time they can go for a week without interrupting the children’s education. Others are teachers or school employees who work themselves. Some might come from colder climates where it is difficult to travel during the winter. For whatever reason, there are special considerations you will want to take when you visit Disney World in the summer. The following are some tips for doing so.
Wear sunscreen
It’s going to be hot. Very, very hot. And you can very easily get a sunburn in a short amount of time while out in the strong Florida sun. Unless you want your vacation to be filled with bright red pain and a lot of aloe, you will want to take some simple precautions to avoid a sunburn. The best thing you can do is to wear sunscreen. You want to look for one of the stronger ones. Read the directions – if you are going to be spending the entire day in the sun, you might need to reapply.
Keep cool in other ways
There are other ways to keep cool in the summer. Make sure that you drink plenty of fluids so that you do not become dehydrated. A hat and sunglasses will help shield the sun. Also, different clothing has SPF ratings on them and some clothing is even meant to keep you cool. You can also bring a portable water spray bottle and a fan to help keep you cool.
Expect the crowds and give yourself time
You know how this is the best time of year for you because the kids are off from school? The same is true of thousands of your closest friends. Disney World is typically very busy during the summer for exactly this reason. You will want to be prepared to deal with a lot of people. Make sure that you keep your children close. Also, with a lot of people, it takes longer to do things. Lines are longer and even just getting from one spot to the next can take a while. Plan for this extra time. Also, use the Fast Pass system to minimize your wait times. Getting there early might let you beat some of the crowds as well. By taking these simple steps, you will have a better summer Disney vacation.
