: Tips on using Beaded Lanyards for I’d Badges
Beaded lanyards can be very attractive for use with ID badges. They can turn a necessary item into something that is attractive and they can make it seem like a necklace. Consider the following tips when using such items.
Make sure that the beads are not so big that they make it cumbersome
Beads can be very pretty but you might want to be careful about how big they are, especially if you will be giving them to employees. Some people do not like something big right around their neck. If it is heavy it might bother their necks. You might want to look for something smaller.
Be careful when choosing colors
Be careful about the colors. You might want to ask your employees about their opinions. Someone who is wearing something elegant in black might not like a brightly colored beaded lanyard. Someone else might like it however. One idea if you are getting for an entire office is to make different types and let people choose the one that they want.
Make sure you get durable beads
Some beads are more durable than others. Some will very easily chip. If people will be constantly wearing these around their necks then you want something that is durable. Consider what the beads are made of.
Make sure that it is a good length
You want your beaded lanyards to be long enough for your employees or whomever else is using them. Most people would like them to be long enough to fit right over their head. Some people have large hairdos so be sure to give it plenty of room. Also, some people need to lift their ID badges up to scan to let them in a door so make sure that the beaded lanyard is flexible enough so that they can do this.
Consider having it open in the back
Some people like to have a lanyard that can open in the back. You could put some sort of clasp or Velcro it.
Make sure that it is very strong
If a beaded lanyard breaks you will have beads all over the place. If you are making it yourself you want to be sure to use something that is very strong. If you are buying them make sure that they will not come apart easily.
A beaded lanyard can be both attractive and practical. Consider the above tips with these.
