There are many unique ways that you can make a border for a bulletin board. What you do will also depend on the subject of the bulletin board. Consider the following ideas.
Put pictures as a border
One idea is to place different photographs as a border. If you are doing a back to school bulletin board, for instance, you can put pictures of the different children. If you are doing a bulletin board on astronomy, then you can border it with different photographs of the planets and stars. If it is on flowers, then you can place pictures of flowers. If it is a bulletin board on a specific person or group of people, then you can place pictures of those as your border. Pictures are visually attractive and draw people in thus this can make a great border. You can get these from pictures you take yourself, cut out from magazines, printed out from the Internet or from other sources.
Put in children’s work/crafts as the border
You can let the children design the border of the bulletin board. Getting the children involved may make them more likely to show interest in it. They can each do a small craft. For instance, if you are doing a bulletin board on the beach, then you can have each child draw a picture of a shell and color it in. You can then line the bulletin board with these shells. If you are doing a math bulletin board, then you can hang up their math papers as the border.
Put in ribbon as the border
One easy and very pretty way to make a bulletin board border is to just use some ribbon. If you go to a craft store such as Michael’s Arts and Crafts or look online, then you will find many different types of ribbon. You may want to get one of the thicker ones. Also, they will often have some with a certain theme such as those that are decorated for the different holidays. These might be good for a seasonal bulletin board. This is easy to just staple up and you can use multiple ribbons if you wish.
Use wrapping paper for the border
If you want some brightly colored paper to make the border, then you can use wrapping paper. They make many different types of paper on all different subjects, and this is relatively inexpensive. This is also easy to tape, staple or tack on.
Make a border of writing
The border could be of writing. If it is an English class bulletin board, then it could be a famous poem. It can just tie in to the theme.
There are many innovative borders for bulletin boards. Consider the above ideas when crafting your board.
