: What to consider when Buying Executive Gifts for Christmas

Many people buy executive gifts for Christmas. There are different points to consider when purchasing such gifts as compared to buying personal presents. Consider the following before making your purchase.
Is it appropriate?
Something that would be appropriate for a friend or family member might not be appropriate as an executive gift. For instance, some gifts are satirical. Your family might enjoy it, but you might not know if the recipient has the same sense of humor. Also, there are some rules about gifts depending on whom you are giving them to (especially if they work in some sort of public arena). Be sure to adhere to any of these as you do not want to be accused of anything having to do with bribery. Also consider whether they have any particular characteristics that would make it inappropriate. For instance, someone who is religious Jewish and keeps kosher might not want a set that includes meat that is not kosher. The last thing you want to do is make them angry at you. You might want to be careful about giving food products in general since so many people have dietary restrictions.
Consider the amount you want to spend carefully
Oftentimes it is worth it to splurge on executive gifts. If you have a client who gives you a lot of business and generates thousands of dollars a year in revenue for you, then a gift worth hundreds of dollars might make a big difference to them and keep you in their good favors. Do not feel bad if you never spend this much on gifts for your loved ones. Remember that executive gifts are as much investments as they are presents. If you do not have a lot of money to spend then do not get them something that looks cheap at least. Do NOT go to the dollar store! If they go and see the same items, then you can be in trouble.
You also want to be very careful when buying executive gifts for several people who might compare the gifts to each other. No matter how nice a gift you give to one person, if they think you gave someone else more, then they might be insulted. You may want to get them the same thing and then you do not have to worry about it.
Think long and hard when picking out executive gifts. If you reciprocate with each other, then a good way to find out what to get them might be to think about what they have gotten for you. Oftentimes people give as gifts the things that they like. Also, consider the above points when making your selection.
