Bank teller jobs range greatly in how much they pay. Some banks pay far more than others, and those jobs may be more competitive. Consider the following tools for targeting these lucrative positions.
Visit the banks in the more affluent areas
The banks in the wealthier areas might pay more to their workers. They may have a higher class clientele and might want to present their customers with the most professional, knowledgeable and skilled workers. By paying a little more you can often get a lot higher class of worker. Also, if it is in an area where there is a higher cost of living then they may just naturally pay their workers more. Obviously this will be a “wash” if you live in the higher cost of living area too, however you might be able to commute from a more reasonable area to the expensive area. You can visit these banks or call them to inquire whether there are any positions available.
Ask people you know in the industry
Sometimes people will gossip about who makes the most money. Some bank tellers will jump from one bank to another and may get an idea from that. You can ask around to your friends in the industry to see if they have any idea of where the best paying banks would be.

The internet may be the best place to find well paying bank teller jobs. You can look at a job search engine such as www.careerbuilder.com. Some of the ads will list salaries so you can just choose the banks that offer more. Also, some people do research into salaries on the Internet and you might be able to find a website that lists the better paying bank teller jobs. In addition, you can visit the websites of the different banks that might be hiring. They may also give an idea of salaries there.
Look for the nicer looking banks
You can often tell which banks have more money in general. They may have nicer appointed lobbies. Their furniture might seem a little more expensive. The building itself might be more grand. These banks, which have more money, might pay their bank tellers more.
