Why so many People will never Save for the Future
It is an unfortunate fact that many people will never save for the future. They may know that they should, think that they should, really want to and yet they never do it. The following are some reasons why.
They can’t resist impulse spending
Many people spend beyond their means. They see things that they want and they just buy it. They buy and they buy until there is nothing left to put aside for the future. They get this feeling of “must have it” to item after item and cannot change. They may be shopaholics and look to shopping as a way to be happy or to help when other things are wrong. They may allow themselves to be swayed by salespeople or great values and may amass many items that they never even use.
They do not think of the future
Some people are just oblivious to the fact that they might not have the same income later that they have now. They may think that as long as they are staying above water now that they are okay. They may not be looking towards when they want to retire or when some unanticipated expenses come up.
They have a philosophy of not worrying about what is to come
Some people purposely do not save. They may think of life as short and not want to deny themselves anything now. Of course, many people do live a long time thus this theory does not hold true for a lot of people. These people might assume that everything will get worked out in the end but people really do get into trouble later and cannot afford to retire even when they are in their declining years.
They just cannot handle finances
Some people do not save money for the future because they have no idea of their financial situation. They may not know what is in their bank accounts. They may not know the first thing about saving for the future in a smart manner. They may get caught up in bad investment schemes or get taken advantage of by unscrupulous people. They may allow someone else who is irresponsible to take care of their finances.
A lot of people today never save for the future. Of course, many of them are in debt and would need to dig themselves out just to get to even ground. The above factors are some reasons that people do not save.
