: Why some Couples Prefer to Sleep in their own Beds rather than together

:
(411 Words)
Not all couples choose to sleep together. Some prefer to slumber in their own personal beds, and this can be for a variety of reasons. Those listed below are some of the more common ones.
One person snores
Some couples like to sleep apart because one of them snores. Snoring can make it difficult for the other person to fall asleep. It might make them wake up at various times during the night. If this is the case, then the one who snores may be able to get some medical help to address this.
They keep different schedules
Sometimes the two people in a couple keep vastly different schedules. One might get up very early for work while the other might sleep in. One of them might be a night owl and not come in until the wee hours of the morning. A lot of people are very light sleepers and they may find that they wake up every time the other person comes in after they are asleep or gets up before they do. In addition, they may feel like they are not going to sleep together anyways. It can be difficult for them to get ready if all of their things are in a room where someone else is asleep. It just might be more convenient to have separate rooms.
They want their own space
Some people just like their own space, even if they are part of a couple. They may prefer to have their own beds and bedrooms.
One of them tosses and turns
Some people are fitful sleepers. They may toss and turn. They may talk in their sleep. They may even inadvertently kick the other person. They may take up more than their fair share of space. The other person may just find it more comfortable to have the entire bed for themselves. Even if the other person does not toss and turn, some people just like to have their own space to themselves.
Logistical reasons
There may be other logistical reasons why someone would choose to sleep separately. Perhaps the rooms are too small to accommodate a large enough bed. Perhaps one of them wants to be closer to the children’s rooms.
Marital problems
When a couple is having marital problems, they sometimes choose to sleep in separate rooms.
Separate sleeping arrangements are not uncommon even among married couples. Each couple has their own reasons for the arrangements, which might include those listed above.
