(449 Words)
A great bulletin board for little kids is one that is of the Cat in the Hat of the popular Dr. Seuss. There are many different ways you can make such a board, including the following.
Put up all of the pages of the book
You can actually post the entire story of The Cat in the Hat. You can buy two books (since they are double-sided) and put up the pages in order. You can have a nice background that is red or white with a nice border. You can also put up other embellishments such as stickers of hats or cats, glitter, sequins, beads, crystals, glitter, etc.
Have the children draw a scene from The Cat in the Hat
You might want to get the kids involved in the bulletin board. If they are very young then you can just have them draw the cat or a scene from it. If they are older, you can have them be much more creative, however. For instance, they can come up with their own comic or story to go along with The Cat in the Hat. They can write it out and illustrate it.
Make the bulletin board be one big book
One idea is to make the bulletin board be like a book with a page that turns. You will need to take a very large piece of paper that can turn and stay up on one side or the other. You can have the story on it or other information.
Put up biographical information and pictures of Dr. Seuss
In addition to learning about The Cat in the Hat, the children might like to learn more about the man who authored this famous book. You can write out a biography, getting as detailed as makes sense given the age and grade level of the children. You can also include pictures of him through his life and discuss how he got started and how he came to write The Cat in the Hat.
You can create a big Cat in the Hat
You can make the Cat in the Hat come to life. You can use construction paper or paints to make a big one. You can also put up images of other elements from the story. You can also try to make the bulletin board pop out. For instance, for the hat you can get a real hat, cut it in half and mount it up so it looks like a real hat is coming out of the board.
A bulletin board about Dr. Seuss and The Cat in the Hat can teach the students in a fun way. Consider the above ideas for creating this board.
