2664 Words: 502
May people think of June as the ideal time to have a wedding, but the truth is, there are many nice times of year to have a wedding. No one time will be right for everyone because it will depend on where you live, what type of wedding you want, the theme of your wedding, among other factors. The following are considerations to explore when choosing the time of year to have your wedding.
The weather
Obviously, the weather is going to be a big part in choosing when to have your wedding. This is especially true if you want an outdoor wedding. If you want to have everyone outdoor in a nice warm climate, then you are going to want to do something more towards the summer unless you live in a warmer part of the country such as Florida. If you want it to be cool but not cold, then you might opt for a spring or fall wedding. Also, if a certain time of the year is prone to rain, then you might want to consider a different time of the year. If you live somewhere that has issues such as hurricanes, then you might consider trying to avoid that. If you have very harsh winters and things sometimes get shut down due to snow, then consider that when planning a winter wedding.
Certain times of year might be more difficult for people to come in from out of town
Many people have children who are in school. They may have an easier time coming in if it is during the summer, winter vacation or a different school break. In addition, if you do it during the winter, you will have to worry about people who might have difficulty traveling through the snow and such.
Do you have a theme that would dictate the time of year?
Many people have a theme that would make sense for a time of year. For instance, some people like to do a Christmas or winter wedding theme. Obviously, this would not make a lot of sense to do during the heart of the summer. Other people might like to do something with an autumn theme or a spring or summer theme. Some people do want to be that June bride.
What times work best for you?
You will, of course, need to think about your own schedule. A certain time might just work better with your job. Also, you may want to think about where you are doing your honeymoon. If you want to take a cruise to Alaska, for instance, there are certain times that you will have difficulty finding these. You may want to rearrange it to work with that.
Prices may be different
In certain places, you will pay different prices for different times of year. This may be true if you are in a tourist destination, where the on-season may be more than the off-season.
Consider the above points when deciding on the time to make your wedding.
