Christmas Inexpensive Gift Ideas for Coworkers
Many people like to get Christmas gifts for their coworkers. You may not have a lot of money to spend because of the difficult 2010 economy and the number of coworkers you have. Consider the following inexpensive gift ideas.
Small plant
Your coworkers might like a little plant to brighten up their offices. You can get something such as an African violet. These are very inexpensive, flower brightly and are not too difficult to keep up. You could get a low-maintenance cactus. Of course, not everyone has time to do this, so make sure that they would want such a gift. This can be a nice token that will last. Alternatively, you can bring in some flowers for the ladies of the office for their Christmas present. Many stores have small bunches of flowers like carnations for under $5.
Jewelry
For the women in the office, you may be able to get a small piece of jewelry for not too much money. Obviously it will not be gold, and probably not even silver. They sell glass pendent necklaces on ribbon chains in many malls for approximately $5. These can be very striking and look much more expensive than they actually cost.
Homemade gift
Even if you do not spend a lot of money on it, your coworkers will probably be very happily surprised if you walk into their office with a batch of delicious homemade chocolate chunk cookies. You could make fudge or a cake. You could put it in a nice Christmas tin. Alternatively you could purchase such an item. Be sure to pay attention to any dietary requirements such as diets, vegetarian, diabetics, etc.
If you have other skills, then you can make something else that is homemade. For instance, if you can paint, then you can take plain and inexpensive wooden frames or boxes and put a pretty design on them.
Candles
Candles can be very pretty for an office. These are often not too expensive, and you will find them in many styles. You can also look to get someone a flameless candle that is battery operated if you think that they would like to have it “burning” without needing to worry about actual fire. You can buy big sets of these from discount stores such as Costco and pay very little per person.
There are many great gifts that you can get for your coworkers for Christmas of 2010 that will not break the bank. Try the above ideas for your office.
