If you will be staying overnight, you may be able to save by splitting the cost of a hotel room. If you feel comfortable sharing this, you may be able to only pay one fourth of the cost of a room. If you have more friends travelling or if you do not want to share a room, then you could consider getting a suite.
Also, when people travel, they often stay at a friend’s or family member’s house for a night in order to save money. If you are going with friends, then you may be able to tap into all of the people that all of you know so you may be more likely to find someone who will be able to put all of you up.
Get a group rate
Depending on how many friends you have with you, you may be able to get a group rate. Certain attractions and other areas offer this.
Split the cost of food
You may be able to save money on food for the trip when travelling with friends. For instance, let’s say you want to bring water for the trip. You may be able to share in the cost of a case, which would make your portion cheaper than if you just bought it yourself. If you go to a restaurant, then you may share an appetizer, dessert or other food items as well.
Share the cost of a rental car
Rental cars can be very expensive. You can cut that down by however many friends you have travelling with you. Make sure to list as many drivers as could potentially be operating the vehicle.
Some vacations are based on double occupancy
With certain types of travels such as on a cruise line, the rates are often given based on double-occupancy. You may pay far more as a single traveler, but save with your friends.
Share equipment that you need
The equipment will of course depend on how you are traveling. If you will be staying at a campsite, for instance, then you can save because you may only need one tent and one of a lot of the other camping supplies.
