College Graduation Party Planning Guide
Graduating college is a great reason to celebrate. Many choose to mark the occasion with a party. The following party planning guide can help you plan a fantastic, successful event.
Carefully choose the date and time
Choosing the timing of your graduation party can be tricky. Many students depart right after graduation, off to all corners of the world. You probably want to do it before then (unless you are doing it on the actual day after graduation, but remember that a lot of people will be busy with family on that day). You do not want to do it so early that everyone is in the midst of studying for exams and cannot attend because of that. Try to pick a time that most of your friends are free.
Make a budget
Before you start planning all of the different aspects of your graduation party, you want to know how much you can spend on it. This will influence your other decisions such as how many people to invite, what to serve, etc.
Consider the guest list
Think about how many people you want to invite. Do you want an intimate affair or a big bash? You may never see some of the people again after graduation so think carefully about every potential guest.
Carefully choose the location
The location choice may be easy for you such as if you know you will be having it in your home. Make sure that it can hold as many people as you need. Make sure that it can accommodate the activities that you want to do like dancing.
Plan for the food and drink
What you serve will be largely dependent on your budget. If you have very little then do something inexpensive like pizza or appetizers from a place like Costco. If you like to cook, then you can certainly do that. If you will be doing it in conjunction with other people, then you can plan for a pot luck. Also think about the types of drinks that you want and whether you want to serve alcohol.
Plan for activities
There are many great activities to do at a graduation party. You can do party games. You can have dancing. You can show a slideshow of times from the college. Think about your friends and the types of things you like to do.
Once all of the plans are made, get the invitations out. Make sure that you keep track of how many people have RSVP’d so that you can make the correct arrangements as far as food and the other details. Follow the above steps to plan a great graduation party.
