Your health is probably one the most important things to you. There are many different factors that can affect this, including the following.
Genetics
This is the part you might not be able to change. You might just have a tendency to have higher blood pressure, for instance. Some people have certain genes that make them more likely to get a cancer like breast cancer. There are many diseases and conditions that run in families.
The fact that you might not be able to chance your tendency to get a condition doesn’t mean that you cannot use this information to help yourself. For instance, if you know that breast cancer runs in your family, then you should check more often for it. If you know that the tendency to get high blood pressure is an issue then you might want to limit your salt. You can get tested more or take more precautions with this knowledge.
How you eat
How you eat plays a big part in how healthy you are. People who eat a lot of healthy foods like vegetables like broccoli and spinach often lower their chances of a wide variety of conditions such as certain cancers, heart disease, strokes and more. Many fruits like antioxidant containing blueberries are very healthy. Foods with whole grains are often much healthier. You should limit items with a lot of unhealthy saturated and trans fats. Also, try not to have too much fried food or foods like fatty red meat. Try to avoid a lot of sugar.
By eating healthier you might stay at a lower weight. When you are overweight as many people in America are, you are at more of a risk for conditions like hypertension and Type II diabetes, which in turn can make you more likely for other problems as well. Eating healthier can help avoid clogged arteries, higher cholesterol and major health problems.
Exercising
A lot of people do not realize what a positive effect exercising has on your body. For instance, half an hour of aerobic exercise every day can lower your blood pressure and give you vast cardiovascular benefits. You may live longer and healthier.
Other lifestyles factors
If you smoke, your health can be compromised and you will be more likely to get heinous conditions like lung cancer and emphysema. Spending too much time in the sun may increase your risk of skin cancer. Even being too stressed can affect your health for the worse.
It is important take care of your health. The above factors are just a few that play a major role in your well-being.
