You may have many pieces of old jewelry that you will never wear again. You don’t want to throw them out because they are pretty or have nice components, but you know that they will not be used again. Instead of throwing them away, you can use them in a craft. There are many different things that you can make with old jewelry.
Christmas tree ornament
Many pieces of old jewelry would look very nice as Christmas tree ornaments. Sometimes you will not need to do much. You might be able to take apart pieces of it and then attach them to strings and hang them on the tree. You can also hook them together to make a long string that you can drape around the Christmas tree. You can also embellish them or combine the pieces.
Clothing and accessories
You can use your old jewelry to embellish clothing and accessories. For instance, if you have beaded jewelry, then you can take the beads off and sew them on to a plain blouse. You can add it to any piece of clothing you want, or an accessory such as a purse, hat or scarf. You can glue or sew them on depending on their size and shape.
Embellish other items
You can also add your jewelry to other items to embellish them. For instance, perhaps you have a plain box that you want to be prettier. You can glue the jewelry to it. Depending on the piece, you can add it as is or you can take it apart first. You can even add these things to pieces of furniture.
New jewelry
You can also use old jewelry to make new pieces. Just because you do not want to wear a piece again, you still might like elements of it. For instance, you may have a piece with all different beads but it is just too big. You can take these beads off and make a new piece of jewelry. You can take a large beaded necklace and make several beaded bracelets for your children.
Hanging decoration
Use your old jewelry to make a unique hanging decoration. You can get a hanger and then hang bracelets and necklaces for a unique decoration for inside or outside of the home. You can use similar pieces, or all different, for something eclectic.
