Vermont is a wonderful state to visit. You will want to be meticulous when planning a trip to this northern state so that all goes smoothly. Consider the following tips for making your plans.
Carefully consider the time of year that you go
Vermont doesn’t get cold in the winter – it gets very cold. For many it will get too cold. Of course some people particularly choose a winter time because they want to go skiing and there are many great resorts like Smuggler’s Notch that offers great skiing. If this is what you want to do then research the different resorts and the exact time of year that is best. Also, when you are traveling in the winter, be aware that some days can be downright frigid and it can snow and snow and snow. It also might affect your driving. If you are uncomfortable driving down narrow paths and hills in the snow, then you might want to consider whether visiting Vermont in the winter is for you. There are times when it can become very difficult or even impossible to travel in certain areas of Vermont during the winter.
The summer can be a beautiful time to visit Vermont. The weather is cooler than in a lot of places. This might be a great time to escape the heat.

You will have many choices of lodgings in Vermont. There are many Bed and Breakfasts in this beautiful state, which are very homey. You will find hotels and resorts as well. Rates range so price around.
Plan your transportation to and from Vermont
There is an airport in Burlington, and the state is of course within driving distance of many of the northeastern states.
Plan what you are going to do on your vacation
There are many wonderful things to do in Vermont. There is an extensive museum called the Shelbourne Museum, which has many lovely exhibits. They have had a wonderful quilt display and many things form the past. You can visit Ben and Jerry’s to see how ice cream is made. Of course, there are many opportunities for hiking in those beautiful green hills Vermont is famous for. You will find many other things to do in this lovely state.
