:
(451 Words)
Traveling on a Greyhound bus can be a great way to travel. You will often save money as compared to an airline, and of course it is great for someone who is uncomfortable with flying. You want to have a good experience, of course, and the following tips can help you accomplish this.
Bring something to do
You might be on that Greyhound bus for quite a while. Do not just assume that you will be able to relax and sit for that long with nothing to do. You might get very bored. You can help prevent this by bringing some distractions. You can bring some leisure books to read. You can bring a portable listening device like an MP3 player. You can bring a netbook or a laptop with Internet access if you feel safe doing so. You can bring an activity book like a crossword puzzle. You might want to bring several things so that you can switch if you get bored.
Bring food and drinks
You might get hungry, and you will not have the flexibility to stop whenever you want. You should bring food and/or drinks for your trip. Make sure that you bring something that will stay well during the trip – you do not want to open your bag to find a squished banana. Make sure that any drinks are in containers that cannot spill.
Bring any medications you might need
You do not want to find yourself in the middle of nowhere with a stomach ache or allergy attack and no medicine. You should bring whatever you could potentially need.
Bring a small neck pillow or something else to make you comfortable
It can be difficult to sit for so long. You might find that a small neck or regular pillow can make it a lot easier.
Bring a jacket to keep you warm
You do not want to be cold on your trip. You can bring a jacket or even a small blanket to help.
Take safety precautions
There are a lot of safety precautions that you can take while you are traveling on a Greyhound bus. You should not wear a lot of gaudy jewelry. Do not flash money (avoid bringing a lot of cash if you can). Do not give personal information to people you do not know. Make sure to get back to the bus with plenty of time from the rest stops.
If you have children make sure to also bring plenty for them to do and eat. You might also want to bring a change of clothing for them in case of an accident. Consider that and the above tips to make your Greyhound bus trip proceed smoothly.
