Who doesn’t want a more comfortable bedroom? A lot of people, however, do not have an unlimited source of funds from which to draw on for their comfort needs. Consider the following budget ideas for increasing the comfort of your bedroom.
Get a soft pad for your bed
A big part of the comfort of any bedroom is the bed. You might not have $2000 to go out and buy the most comfortable mattress out there. Instead you might want to consider buying some sort of pad. For instance, even an egg carton foam pad can make a bed a lot more comfortable. Instead of buying an entire bed made of memory foam you can spend a tiny fraction of the price for a pad made of this material and get some of the same feel. You can go to a store like Bed, Bath and Beyond to see what is available. You can also look online at places like www.amazon.com and read the reviews to see what people found the most comfortable.
Get some nice soft lighting
You might not be able to afford to rewire your entire bedroom lighting system but that doesn’t mean you can’t make for a more comfortable lighting system. You can buy mood lamps to make it nicer. Also you can add candles that are either real or use the safer LED lights to make a warm and inviting ambiance.
Get some luxurious blankets
You might feel more comfortable in your bedroom with some luxurious blankets. Just because they feel expensive does not mean that they are, however. You can buy a lot of these at Costco for very reasonable prices. You can put them on your bed or on different seating that you have in your bedroom to make that more comfortable.
Get a soft rug for the floor
You might not like what is under your feet as you walk, yet carpeting can be expensive. Instead you can look for some lower cost rugs that still provide plenty of softness. Look in discount sources like Costco and Ross or on the Internet, taking shipping costs into account. You can place the rugs where you walk or stand most often.
Shop for home furnishings at less expensive places
You can often save money at a discount source like Anna’s Linens. Also, look for sales, clearance and coupons at home furnishing stores.
Even with a tight budget you can still make your bedroom more comfortable. Try the above techniques for saving money.
