A handbag is a popular personal item, and different people will choose to keep different items within it. You may want to include the following common items.
Identification cards
Most people will keep their driver’s license in their handbag. They will use this to drive, of course, but also for identification purposes if they do not drive.
Other cards
There are many other cards you might keep in your handbag. A lot of people choose to have their social security cards, membership cards to a place like a gym or a zoo, discount cards and other cards that you get.
Money
Of course many people keep their money in handbags. They may also have it in the form of credit cards. This and the cards are probably carried in a wallet.
Check book
A lot of people like to have their check books in their handbags so that they can write one if they do not have the cash to pay for something.
Compact
A lot of women like to keep a small compact mirror in their handbag. This can be useful if you get something in your eye, want to check your makeup or otherwise need to look at yourself.
Makeup
Many women keep makeup in their handbags such as powered, lipstick, etc. Make sure that everything is closed completely.
Medications
You might want to keep some medicines such as a pain reliever or allergy pill. This can help you if something suddenly arises. It is also not a bad idea to have a few band-aids in your handbag. You can get some antibiotic “to go” packets like Neosporin or get band-aids that have medicine built in.
Pocketknife
A pocketknife can be very handy to have inside a handbag. You can get one that has items like a nail file, scissors, small knife, tweezers, etc. Make sure that you remove this if you are going anywhere where it is not permitted like an airplane.
Tissues
You might want some tissues in your handbag in case you have need for one.
Sunglasses
A lot of people like to have sunglasses in their handbags for when it is bright.
Small snack
A handbag can actually be a good place for a small snack. Make sure that it is something that is closed fully and will last as long as it is in there.
Cell phone
Many women keep their cell phones in their handbags. A lot now have specific pockets for this item.
A handbag is a very useful tool to carry a variety of items. Those listed above are just a few items you might choose to carry.
