: What to do with an Undrivable old Car

If you have an undrivable old car just sitting in your driveway taking up space, then you might want to consider doing something with it. There are a number of options out there. Consider the following.
Donate it
Even if the car is not driveable, there are some places that will still take it as a donation. They can often take it apart for parts. You might even be able to get a tax deduction by donating it. You can search on the Internet from organizations that might be willing to take it. Also some of them will take it right from your driveway so you will not have to worry about towing it yourself. Just make sure that the title and everything gets transferred so that you do not need to worry about it.
Sell it
Just because it is undrivable and old does not mean that someone will not take it for money. Even an old car that no longer runs might have some parts that some people might be able utilize. Someone might be willing to give you a little money for it, especially if they know how to salvage the parts themselves. They may know of someone who can come and tow it away for them. Again make sure all of the paperwork gets put through so it is no longer legally yours.
Of course you could also take it apart and sell the parts yourself.
Fix it
Of course some people who have an old car that they love will fix it so that it is driveable again. Some people enjoy tinkering with and fixing up old cars and it can be a project. You can fix it up to give to a teenager. It can be a project that you work on. It might give you a sense of pride to work on it and find that it is workable again.
Send it to the junk yard
Of course you could have the car hauled away to the junk yard. Make sure that you find a place that accepts old cars.
Use it for other innovative purposes
Some people will actually use a car for an advertisement for their business. They may paint it bright colors related to their business. Others might use it as a decoration to their house. You will see all sorts of creative uses for that undrivable old car.
You should not let an undrivable old car just sit in your driveway doing nothing. You will have many different options to consider, including those listed above.
