: Birthday Party Ideas for Toddlers

:
(407 Words)
Your toddler is having a birthday, and you want to do something very special. There are many parties that are simply too mature for a toddler, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t give him or her a great party. Consider the following ideas.
Invite a child’s favorite character to the house
Your toddler might absolutely love to have Elmo come to his or her birthday party. Okay, so it isn’t going to be the real character, but he or she won’t know that it’s someone dressed in a costume. If your toddler likes one of the popular characters for this age group such as Dora the Explorer, Elmo or Mickey Mouse, then you can have this be the theme of your party. You can buy all of the party supplies like paper plates, cups, decorations, etc. with this theme. You can then hire a performer. They will usually charge approximately $100-$300 and come and play games, sing songs and just have fun with the kids.
Look for an age appropriate venue
There are some places that would be just perfect for a toddler-aged child. For instance, Chuck E Cheese is a favorite among these little ones. They have party packages that allow you to get the party out of the house and have everything taken care of for you. There are also some bounce places that have parties for this age group. Another fun idea is to have the party at a zoo. A lot of toddlers love animals and many zoos have deals that include the admission, food and the other party essentials.
Miscellaneous party at home ideas
There are many other ways to have a great party at home. If it is during the summer, then you can set up a slip and slide and a kiddie pool (make sure that you have enough adults watching them) and let the kids play in their bathing suits. You can rent or buy a bounce house, which many kids this age love. You can also have some fun games like sack races. You can buy sacks at party stores like Party City or just use pillowcases. You can have other games like Pin the Tail on the Donkey. You can get a fun party CD that has songs like The Chicken Dance and The Hokey Pokey.
There are many ways to make a toddler’s birthday memorable. The above ideas may be perfect for your little one.
