(405 Words)
Magic is in the air as the winter holidays approach. You want your home to be happy and inviting for your guests, and the following tactics may help you achieve this.
Make it clean
You do not want your guests tripping over objects or sneezing at the dust. Before your guests come, you will want to do a thorough cleaning. You want them to be awed at how beautiful everything looks.
Put up holiday decorations
Your home can seem much happier and more inviting with warm decorations. Of course the decorations will depend on the holiday you are celebrating. If it is Christmas you might want to put up a beautiful tree with ornaments. You can have lights and a warm wreath. You can also put up cards that people have sent you, which spread warm sentiments. Pictures of family happy together can also go very well. If you celebrate Hanukkah, then you might have some items such as a beautiful menorah. Candles are also very beautiful to put up during this time, and with dim light, can provide for a very warm atmosphere. A lot of people are uncomfortable with real fire, however, especially those with small children, thus you can consider one of the LED candles that are battery operated but look like real candles.
Play warm music
It is amazing how happy music can make you. You can get some warm Christmas music, for instance, that reminds visitors of their own childhoods. It can play classics like White Christmas. You can get some lively music with tracks like Jingle Bells, which can make a lot of people happy. They make Hanukkah CDs as well.
Have a happy home
Your guests may not feel very warm or happy if they step into a war zone, i.e. the constant fights you have with your family. If disagreements and arguments are a constant occurrence in your home then you might want to curtail that in front of your holiday guests. You will probably be happier as well, and it can even usher in a better way that you and your loved ones deal with disagreements.
You want your home to be happy and inviting for holiday guests. You might want to start by making some delicious food for them that gets the entire house smelling delicious such as fresh baked cookies. Try that and the above tactics to present an atmosphere your guests will love.
