It is very important that your baby not be too cold or too hot. Talk to your pediatrician about the correct “heaviness” of clothing for your newborn for the current weather.

The best thing to do to prepare for your newborn’s wardrobe is to make a list. Consider how many shirts you need, how many pants, dresses, etc. Remember that babies will often spit up or soil their clothing, so you will probably have many days with more than one outfit. Of course you can always get more if you do not find that you have enough.
Consider where to purchase
Although small, baby clothing can be extremely expensive. Scope out the different places where you can buy. You might be able to get an adorable outfit for half the price by using a discount store. Also consider baby bazaars and consignment shops, which might have barely worn baby clothing at a fraction of the price.
