A road trip can seem endless, but games can help pass the time in a fun manner. They also allow passengers to spend quality time together despite their sedentary positions. The following are some great game to play.
Find all of the letters game
One fun game is to have everyone need to get from A to Z by looking for letters outside of the car. They might see them on buildings, signs, license plates or in any other area outside. The first person who manages to see all of the letters wins. An alternative is to make a list of different objects or things they must see outside. You can include things such as construction workers, an exit sign, a dump truck and so forth. They even sell road trip bingo games, which have these different items on them and you can mark on them which ones you have seen and which one remain unseen.
A board game
There are a lot of fun board games that can be played inside the car. For instance, if it is the two back passengers who are playing and they can easily see each other, then they can play one of the many travel games. You can buy travel games such as of Yahtzee that are made in smaller easy-to-carry containers. These can be taken wherever you go.
Yes/no game
One fun game is to ask a person questions and see how long they can go without saying the word yes or no. You can look at your watch to time them. You can ask any question you want, such as are you excited about the trip, have you even been here before, etc. The person must restrain from saying yes or no and instead can say something like, I have never been here.
Chain or words game
You might start off this game by saying the name of an animal. Then the person who is next has to take the last letter of that word and come up with the name of another animal. You can just keep going without repeating any of the names until somebody gets stumped and can’t give an answer. Instead of animals you can do states or whatever other category you would like.
Games can help a road trip be more fun and entertaining. It can also make the hours just melt away. Consider the above activities when planning your trip.
